Cost of Tree Care Services
By ProMatcher Staff
How much does tree care cost?
The cost of tree care will depend on the type of services you require. Once you get an idea of how much it will cost to hire a tree services professional, we can help you find the right person for the job. Whether you are on a budget or willing to splurge a little, we can match you to a good quality pro in your area.
Basic Services
For basic trimming and pruning, you should expect to pay an hourly rate or a fixed fee per visit.
- Cost: approx. $20-40 per hour or about $125 per visit
If trees need to be sprayed to treat or prevent disease, this will come at an additional cost.
- Cost: about $75-220 per visit
Tree Removal Cost
The cost of tree removal is often determined by the height of the tree. It is generally more expensive to remove taller trees, as this typically requires additional safety equipment. Also, trees that are in any way difficult to access (due to fences, power lines, etc.) will be more expensive to cut down.
- Small trees: approx. $75-130 per tree
- Mid-sized trees: approx. $150-400 per tree
- Large trees (over 50 ft): Anywhere from $500-1500 per tree Emergency tree removal can be very pricey! If you are looking to save money, you may want to consider removing a damaged tree before the situation becomes dangerous. It is much more affordable (and safer!) to remove a standing tree than a fallen tree. If the tree falls during a big storm, it’s more than likely than your neighbors will also require the services of a tree removal company. This can easily drive up the price!
Stump Grinding Cost
For stump grinding, there are several ways to determine the price.
- Fixed fee per stump Cost: Anywhere from $20-175 per stump
- Per inch of stump diameter Cost: Anywhere from $3-5 per inch of stump
- For site clearing, you may pay an hourly rate Cost: $75-200 per hour
Cleanup
Haul away and disposal of tree debris is almost always an additional cost. However, you can ask your contractor about having the wood chipped or cut into smaller pieces for firewood.
