By ProMatcher Staff
What is the Tree Care Industry Association?
The Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) is a leading professional association representing tree care companies. It was founded in 1938 as the National Arborist Association. The mission of the organization is to advance and support tree care businesses. TCIA establishes education programs, promotes safe practices, and sets minimum standards for tree care firms. TCIA holds conferences, publishes newsletters, and provides professional services to its members.
Membership
Members of TCIA are entitled to many benefits, some of which include:
- Access to business advisors
- Marketing assistance
- Networking opportunities
- Assistance with regulatory compliance
- Discounts on additional products and services
- Annual conferences
- Education and safety courses
- Accreditation and credentialing
- Periodical publications and newsletters
Accreditation
Commercial tree companies in the United States are eligible for accreditation by the Tree Care Industry Association. Accreditation helps to give consumers peace of mind that the company is meeting or exceeding all minimum standards. A TCIA Accredited company is subject to an on-site audit of their business practices and must meet strict criteria to maintain its accreditation. A tree services company that displays the “TCIA Accredited” logos must comply with all local and federal regulations, exceed minimum standards, establish formal training and safety programs, and have the necessary liability insurance.
